Meet your Teachers.

At (Here) Yoga, we’re passionate about helping you explore deeper.

Amy Cashman

Amy began her yoga journey in 2010, practicing Vinyasa at a local gym while working an office job in music marketing and promotions. Yoga helped her forge a deeper connection to herself that she didn’t realise was possible, and it was from this place of self discovery that she decided to ditch the 9-5 and head off travelling for a few years.

When she arrived back home in Sydney, she discovered her passion for empowering people to feel good through music and movement, while teaching pilates and group fitness. In 2015 she moved to Melbourne, and completed her 200hr YTT in 2017. Since then, she has been teaching classes, running workshops, trainings and mentorships, and stepping into her latest role as mum to her beautiful little boy, Sonny.

Amy’s classes are dynamic and purposeful, designed to get her students out of their head and into their heart. She combines thoughtful sequencing to open and strengthen with fluid movements to invite freedom into the body and mind. With her happy and playful teaching style, combined with her light hearted attention to detail, compassionate adjustments and intentional alignment cueing, she aims to create an environment that invites each individual to personalise their practice to connect deeper and feel good in each and every class.

As a yoga teacher trainer, she is passionate about creating an inclusive and encouraging space for students to unlock their potential, find their confidence and connect to the authentic teacher within. She invites inquiry and offers the support and space to explore the complexity of the ancient teachings in a modern, accessible, and personal way, empowering her students with the essential knowledge and skills needed to find their own authentic voice and teach purposeful, creative and impactful classes.

Rachael Mellican

Rach’s teaching journey began in Rishikesh India and has taken her all over of the world, currently residing and predominantly teaching in Melbourne.

The movement practice of yoga became Rach’s medicine for rehabilitating a back injury in 2009, since then it quickly became her life and soul as she started to understand and integrate the deeper aspects to the practice.

Her classes comprise of a beautiful balance of dynamic movements, strength and fluidity. Her passion truly lies in energetic alignment whilst promoting safety and stability in the physical body. Rach blends creative sequencing, strong Asana, yogic philosophy and energetics into her classes so that you can truly drop into flow state. As a trained and experienced nurse, Rach’s caring and gentle nature also shows through her teachings; as does her knowledge of the human body.

Rach’s teachings stem from many renowned facilitators, mentors and above all, her deep devotion to self-study. As a teacher trainer, Rach is passionate in introducing the depths and potency this practice has to offer you. Providing a gateway into understanding the history, the science and all that encompasses this ancient practice but keeping it relevant, digestible and fun!

What style of yoga is the training?

(Here) Yoga teaches a Vinyasa-based program focusing on foundational alignment, physical awareness and linking movement to breath. Our training is designed to allow you the space to explore and enhance your experience of yoga. We will dive into the rich history of yoga, plus its transition to modern day including modern alignment, purposeful sequencing, moving from intention, and tapping into your intuition.

What yoga experience is needed before joining a teacher training?

We suggest that you have a very minimum of 6 months of a consistent yoga practice before enrolling for teacher training. This ensures trainees have a basic foundation and understanding of yoga before learning how to teach. If you have been practicing for less time, but are interested in the training to deepen your own practice, we can discuss whether this training is right for you. Please be aware that the training includes many hours of physical practice for the duration of the course.

What if I don’t want to be a teacher?

No worries! Our training is great for anyone who wants to dive deeper into the study of yoga with its rich history and to elevate their own practice. It’s also perfect for students who want to experience the awesome community and transformational aspects of the process.

Can I cancel once I have paid?

Unfortunately no. (Here) Yoga does not offer refunds for trainings. A portion of your payment can be used as a credit for another training within two years of your original training date, or we can transfer your credit to another student.

Cancellation fees may apply.

Fees are determined by the following schedule:

  • Cancel 60 – 90 days before training start date, 75% of your payment may be transferred to another person; thereby forfeiting 25%
  • Cancel 15 – 59 days before training start date, 40% of your payment may be transferred to another person; thereby forfeiting 60%
  • Cancel 14 days or less before training start date, you will forfeit your entire payment.

Please note that your $900 deposit is non-refundable regardless of cancellation period.
