Meet the Team.

At (Here) Yoga, we’re passionate about helping you explore deeper.

Sarah Metzger

Sarah was drawn to yoga as a way to get fit and find peace. After graduating with an Elementary Education degree, she practiced yoga regularly while running the children’s program on a cruise ship for grounding while floating around the world. Sarah brings her passion for teaching into yoga as a way to tap into the curious awareness and compassionate acceptance within each of us.

Sarah believes the beauty of yoga is the physical and mental challenge that relieves stress and helps you grow into the best version of yourself, and as a teacher you’re able to share that experience with your students.

Sarah’s classes are nurturing, creative and dynamic with a focus on breath and mindful movement. Sarah loves to weave a theme or focus into her classes to create a purpose for each pose, transition & breath.

With an aim of feeling good and moving with love & lightness, Sarah’s classes are designed to invite freedom into the body and mind, like a guided moving meditation. Sarah offers a fluid, embodied experience with lots of heart and depth. Expect to be challenged and supported into a deep connection with your body and mind.

Sarah’s passion for teaching trainings stems from a life-long enquiry into the human experience and a quest to understand how to live with more peace and ease. Sarah has a gift of breaking down complexity and making sense of traditional philosophy in an easy-to-apply, modern way. Guided by values of connection and community, Sarah leads with heart and encourages open-minded exploration of using the tools of yoga to live a life you love.

Jodie Burton

Jodie first started practising yoga as a way to improve flexibility and fell in love with the effect it had on her state of mind. She quickly developed a passion and sought to delve deeper into yoga philosophy. Some years later, on a yoga retreat in Thailand, she realised that teaching was her true calling.

Jodie loves to create a nurturing and carefree environment where students can express themselves and drop into the simple act of finding joy through breath and movement. Through this joy, Jodie aspires for each student to find peace, self-compassion and the space to challenge themselves so that every practice is an exploration into body and mind.

Jodie’s niche is soulful and deeply engaging movement, allowing a sense of profound presence. She uses mindful movement and reminders to tune into the breath as a way to invite her students to have an experience of something more than just physical. With a strong belief that we’re each able to move beyond the busy-ness of the mind into a connection with deeper layers of the self, Jodie’s classes will get you out of your head and into your heart.

As a teacher trainer, Jodie has a special gift for creating a nurturing and supportive environment that offers the space for students to connect to the authentic teacher within. Her approach to respecting the tradition of yoga while bringing it into modern times in an inclusive way makes it accessible to each of her students.

What style of yoga is the training?

(Here) Yoga teaches a Vinyasa-based program focusing on foundational alignment, physical awareness and linking movement to breath. Our training is designed to allow you the space to explore and enhance your experience of yoga. We will dive into the rich history of yoga, plus its transition to modern day including modern alignment, purposeful sequencing, moving from intention, and tapping into your intuition.

What yoga experience is needed before joining a teacher training?

We request that you have a very minimum of 6 months of a consistent yoga practice before enrolling for teacher training. This ensures trainees have a basic foundation and understanding of yoga before learning how to teach. If you have been practicing for less time, but are interested in the training to deepen your own practice, we can discuss whether this training is right for you. Please be aware that the training includes many hours of physical practice for the duration of the course.

What if I don’t want to be a teacher?

No worries! Our training is great for anyone who wants to dive deeper into the study of yoga with its rich history and to elevate their own practice. It’s also perfect for students who want to experience the awesome community and transformational aspects of the process.

Can I cancel once I have paid?

Unfortunately no. (Here) Yoga does not offer refunds for trainings. A portion of your payment can be used as a credit for another training within two years of your original training date, or we can transfer your credit to another student.

Cancellation fees may apply.

Fees are determined by the following schedule:

  • Cancel 60 – 90 days before training start date, 75% of your payment may be transferred to another person; thereby forfeiting 25%
  • Cancel 15 – 59 days before training start date, 40% of your payment may be transferred to another person; thereby forfeiting 60%
  • Cancel 14 days or less before training start date, you will forfeit your entire payment.

Please note that your $900 deposit is non-refundable regardless of cancellation period.
